Project description

Originally, my brief was to redesign the Janus Consultancy logo, which the company felt needed modernising. It was agreed the symbol - the two faces of the roman God Janus - would be kept. As a financial consultancy, the firm liked the idea of the symbol appearing on a coin. The faces were to look recognisable as faces, and to be modern, yet retaining a classical element. During my research I looked at portrayal of faces and people in Roman art in order to capture the classical aspect. The colours used in the logo were also updated, from green and orange, to a simpler grey and pale blue. These colours were chosen for their professional look and impact and their appeal to the company's clientele.

Pleased with the success of their logo, the company asked me to design their website. The website was to use the colours of the logo, and again, was to look simple and modern but with some classical styling.

In both instances, Janus had a clear idea of what they wanted from the logo and the website design. They were also eager to update their website independently, so it was decided to use a CMS. After some research, I suggested Etomite, a simple but powerful CMS that the company liked.
